AIREA Tour: A breath of fresh air in Gorbea

This excursion is part of Romotur’s “In the Element: The Deep Basque Country” series. Airea means “air” in Basque. This excursion takes the group up, up, to the Gorbea Natural Park where you can connect with nature. The day begins with a visit to Antzasti, a traditional Basque home transformed into a museum of extraordinary anthropological value, offering insight into traditional Basque rural daily life and traditions of its people, but also the transformations in the Basque home brought about by the the scientific and industrial revolutions. Tasting of local products can be added to the end of the visit. We then head to the Gorbea Natural Park for a visit of the beech forest of Otzarreta followed by a short hiking route. Alternatively (or additionally), a mindfulness workshop in the beautiful natural surroundings of the park can be proposed. The excursion will end with lunch in a local restaurant before heading back to Bilbao.
