Welcome to the place where I spent the long summers of my childhood and adolescence. Days of being down by the river, of bike riding and of eating sunflower seeds. I hope you will experience the peace and tranquility of the sun, the north wind, and those starry nights that can only be seen in places like this.

Casa Zacarias is a welcoming house with a garden in a quiet village of the La Rioja, along the Way of Saint James. It consists of two flats (3 double rooms each) that can be rented together or separately.
The common areas include a wine cellar, a garden, and a “txoko” with a low fireplace for grilling. The apartment kitchens are equipped with basic amenities. The house uses sustainable energy systems for heating (pellets) and hot water (aerothermal system). There is a small shop that sells basic food products in the village; more shops and services can be found in the nearby town of Santo Domingo de la Calzada (9 km).
There are many things to do around Casa Zacarias: You can go fishing or swimming in the Tirón River, enjoy beautiful starry nights, explore the rural surroundings by foot and bike, buy vegetables and other products straight from local producers, and visit small family-owned wineries. There is also a playground, swimming pool and soccer field nearby.
A little further you will find the ski slopes of Valdezcaray and the golf course Cirueña. Finally, for lovers of good food and wine, there is the Vivanco Museum of Wine, numerous wineries in Cuzcurrita, Haro, etc, as well as well-recognized restaurants where you can savor the typical cuisine of the La Rioja region.
